RISE TO THE CHALLENGE BUSINESS PITCH COMPETITION |

The MSB Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI) invites recent UB graduates to participate in the Rise to the Challenge Business PitchCompetition. Competition categories include Best New Business Idea and BestExisting Business. Prizes up to $2,500 in cash and in-kind professional services will be awarded to the winner of each category. Deadline to apply is Sunday, March 20. Final live event takes place Thursday, April 21. Rules and application information can be found on the CEI website.

AQUARIUM NIGHT

The Student Events Board is proud to sponsor "Aquarium Night" on Sunday, Feb. 21 from 6-10 p.m. Come and explore the world famous National Aquarium in Baltimore with students and fellow alumni. Tickets can be purchased at the door for only $5 for alumni and guests.

UBSPI AUCTION EVENT |

UB Students for Public Interest (UBSPI) is a student-run organization dedicated to advancing public-interest law. For two decades, the organization has inspired students to pursue careers focused on serving the less fortunate by helping them obtain equal representation in the justice system. On Friday, Feb. 26, join UBSPI for live and silent auctions, hors d’oeuvres, and beer and wine as they help raise money for a good cause: summer fellowships at public-interest organizations. General admission is $40. If you are a 2013-2015 grad, you are eligible for ticket discounts by entering the promo code corresponding to your graduation year at checkout: ALUM13, ALUM14 or ALUM15.

Veterans Treatment Docket
The District Court of Maryland, Baltimore City, and The Bob Parsons Veterans Center are seeking veterans to serve as mentors for the Veterans Treatment Docket. Alumni Appreciation Calling Night (March 29) Join a group of alumni, students, faculty, and staff volunteers as they make thank you calls to donors to express appreciation for their financial support of the University. Backpack to Briefcase The Backpack to Briefcase (B2B) program brings UB alumni back into the classroom to share their experiences with current students. Our goal is to provide students with information about career options for their course of study.SavorUBThis program offers alumni a unique opportunity to share their expertise with students over a meal or coffee at local Baltimore restaurants. It is a flexible, one-time commitment that will hopefully turn into a meaningful mentor relationship. UB will host two candidate forums this spring in the H. Mebane Learning Commons Town Hall before the Maryland primary election on April 26. Both forums are co-sponsored by UB’s College of Public Affairs and Schaefer Center for Public Policy, the Baltimore City League of Women Voters, The Baltimore Sun and WJZ-TV who will be taping the forums for rebroadcast.
