The Real Estate and Economic Development (REED) specialization at UBalt (www.ubalt.edu/realestate) began in 2007 and is Maryland’s only business program in real estate and economic development.  This program prepares graduates for a career in real estate like Development and Entrepreneurship, Property Management and Brokerage and Finance and Investment.

You can make a difference in the trajectory of our students/graduates by supporting one of these funds:

Joao David Garcia Ferraz Endowed Scholarship – This scholarship supports first generation undergraduate students who have an interest in REED with a preference for Hispanic/Latino students.

Mark J. Einstein Scholarship - This scholarship was created to support students in the fields of Real Estate and Economic Development regardless of financial means.  Future recipients should exhibit financial need and a commitment to improving affordable housing or promoting community revitalization through community development.

REED Fellows Program – 10 week mentoring program opportunity for students/alumni to address critical development needs within Baltimore's middle-market neighborhoods. The goal is to provide critical capacity-building for startup businesses. The program exposes students to the real-life requirements necessary for success, and offers the equity financing to help implement the project they are working on, for alumni they gain greater knowledge of the requirements needed to access traditional bank financing in the future.

Equity Fund - this award is meant to fuel more mid-scale developers in Baltimore who are capable of rehabilitating and revitalizing Baltimore neighborhoods often ignored by larger, qualified developers.
